We know that traveling can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. Prepare for your upcoming trip by reviewing these travel tips.
For airports the size of Green Bay, it is recommended that you arrive at least one hour and thirty minutes prior to your departure.
For larger airports, like Chicago’s O'Hare International Airport, it is recommended that you arrive at least two hours prior to your departure.
Each airline has designed a smartphone application to provide you with updates on your flight, gate information and connecting airport information. Some apps can even track your luggage. All airlines recommend that you download and set up the app before your flight. You can find additional information about each airline’s app by clicking the logos below.
If you have metal implants, please bring documented proof from your doctor to TSA security screening.
Before you arrive at the airport, please review the list of acceptable forms of identification for flying.
If you plan to travel using your state-issued ID, you will be required to have a REAL ID with the star located in the corner. You can learn more about obtaining your REAL ID before the 2025 deadline here.
Passengers are responsible for obtaining the correct passport and visas needed for international travel before they arrive at the airport. Airports, airlines and TSA will not make exceptions or allow anyone to travel without proper documents. You can review your international destination requirements here.
Security screening is a critical element of the TSA’s approach to ensure that you safely arrive at your destination. TSA procedures are in place to prevent potential threats to transportation security and also to prohibit certain items from entering the airport. You can find additional information on what to expect at TSA screening here.
TSA PreCheck® is a paid membership that allows you to fly without having to remove:

Instead of using traditional ID documents, CLEAR uses your eyes and face to confirm your identity. Several large hub airports have installed CLEAR technology in their TSA checkpoints; however, it is not currently available in Green Bay. The airports that Green Bay serves with nonstop destinations that have CLEAR are: Chicago (ORD), Minneapolis (MSP), Denver (DEN), Phoenix (PHX), Detroit (DTW), Atlanta (ATL) and Orlando (MCO). You can find additional information on joining CLEAR here.
Travelers may only transport ammunition and unloaded firearms in a locked, hard-sided container as checked baggage. Ammunition and firearms (loaded or unloaded) are prohibited in carry-on baggage. You can learn more here.
